PLEASE READ CAREFULLY:
Our protests so far have been very effective, but now we have a new factor to deal with for Operation: Reconnect. Our new objective is to reconnect families that have been broken up by Scientology. The problem is that although the families on the outside want to reconnect, it will be difficult convincing Scientologists to call up their long lost family when the church forbids them from doing so.
We've discovered that the word "cult" is an immediate turn-off for Scientologists. For them it's as bad as the N word is to blacks, or the C word is to women, and once they hear it they shut down their brains and stop listening to anything we have to say.
Because of this, we have to reach out to them with signs that will tug at their heart strings. I'm not saying we need to ban all the signs that call Scientology a cult or any of the lulzy signs either. After all, we need to point out the predatory behavior of this "church" in order to educate and warn the public, and we need our lulz in order to boost our spirits during all-day protests. But if you have a sign that accuses them of being a cult or anything lulzy, point them towards the general public and away from the Scientologists' eyes.
What kinds of signs will have the most effect? Signs like "your daughter needs you," "call your brother" or "reconnect with your dad." A lot of them have disconnected family, and although most of these signs won't apply to them, if there are one or two that are relevant, then we've got a foothold into their hearts.
Tory Magoo didn't leave Scientology because someone called her a cult member or made fun of her. She left because someone reached out to her and treated her like a person.
Whatever city you are in, please help direct your fellow protesters to where they will be most effective.

Another thing, for signs pointing towards the CoS - don't use names like '$cientology', its just as bad as calling it a cult. Only try to have the emotional stuff pointed towards CoS windows, everything else is for pedestrians to see.
After all, whilst we are here to bring down the cult, we are also here to help the victims. And if in pursuing one objective we may advance another; all the better.
And even if it isn't as good as some of the more high profile messages? It still helps to spread the word. and that is what we need most of all.
