This is the reason I chose tungsten carbide for my ring. If it's good enough to use as a tool material to cut steel and cast iron, it's good enough for jewelry. As I like to say, "Tungsten - it's the 'man diamond.'"

Tungsten is harder and heavier. but titanium has far more tensile strength. Tungsten carbide has a tendency to be brittle.

I thought this guy was full of it...UNTIL I bought a tungsten wedding band for myself from these folks. Guess what...I took my ball pean hammer and beat the you know what out of my tungsten ring. NO SCRATCHES!!!
