This is great - you couldn't improve on this if you tried. In response to fishheadedfish below, no it's not the same for writers because you usually end up working at home when you're not at the offices of various TV production companies. Other than that, the details are pretty much identical. As Charlie himself has said elsewhere, if you can get your stuff on the internet or somewhere else where you have creative control and it might take off, for God's sake do that instead.

I have to say there are lots of people going to university, sleeping in until 1pm every day, who go to their 4 media studies lectures a week and when they have the cheek to ask what you do, if it doesn't involve being in TV, they look at you like you've a retard.
